MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Now Available

Viva Glam Miley Cyrus is now available online @ MAC! It will be available Nordstrom online and in MAC stores and counters on January 22^nd

MAC Cinderella Lipstick: Free as a Butterfly

I am super excited, Free as a Butterfly is the shade name and it looks like a really pretty nude pink. I definitely love this pink shade, you can tell because I have a ton similar colors in my collection. Though the color is easily duped, I likely will still purchase. I mean, it’s Cinderella! Plus the packaging is bae.

IMATS LA is HERE!

Hey y'all, me again.

Lots of beauty news lately! Since I have a three day weekend I decided I would take some time to talk about all the upcoming products and let you guys know what's coming out. Plus a co-worker was talking about her blog today, coincidentally reminding me that yes I still do have this blog. Since I'm obsessed with makeup and don't really have anyone IRL to talk to about my loves, the internet is the place for me. I spend much of my time watching YouTube beauty videos, reading blogs, and looking at pictures of makeup on Instagram. About two years ago when I first got interested in makeup I learned about a little thing called IMATS or the International Makeup Artist Trade Show.

From the IMATS website -

The event is happening this weekend in LA. There are also several other events happening throughout the world this year, so if it's anything you would be interested in definitely check out the website here. 

I absolutely would love to attend, and I am considering going to the event when it comes to Vancouver. I've heard there are such amazing things to do there, from learning about different brands, watching presentations by some of the best makeup artists in the business, and of course shopping for products (because we always need more makeup, ALWAYS!).

While my everyday makeup look is very simple and natural, I love experimenting with different colors and crazy looks. Below is an example of a bold lip using OCC's lip tar in I believe Tarred.

This is my VERY dramatic face, can you tell? A dark lip like this absolutely requires it.

Anyway, I'll be spending my weekend dreaming of IMATS, and of course watching videos all about the event. If you attend let me know how it goes!

These lighter colors are speaking to me. They are so beautiful and the lighter pinks are typically the lip colors I gravitate towards. 

Also can I talk about the re-promotions? Many of these products are re-promoted and I am all about that. Lightscapade, a MSF I've had in my collection for a while, is back!!!

Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette + My Sephora Order=PLACED!

It's just....it's so beautiful 

I am feeling so excited right now because I just put in my order for this bad boy. I missed the limited early release on Tarte's website so I decided to pick this up on a recent Sephora.com order. It's $44 and contains 12 gorgeous matte shades.

My only slight problem with this palette.... WHY IS IT ONLY AVAILABLE TO VIB/VIB ROUGE?! I was luckily able to purchase it, but still. I'm sure there are tons of makeup lovers out there that would have wanted the chance to purchase. Come on Sephora, make it available to everyone.

Frozen's Elsa Cosplay

A few months ago, I attended Seattle's Sakura-Con as Elsa from Disney's Frozen. I made my own cosplay for this event, and it was actually quite easy. I thought I would share what I did in case anyone was interested in re-creating this look (even though Halloween is over and there are probably no other cons for a while... Oh well, the earlier you start the easier time you will have).

Step 1) The first and most important thing you will need is a dress. I have to say, gowns are a beezy to sew. If you've got the skills and you find the correct fabric at your local fabric store, go for it. However, as someone who has done it and knows how difficult it was, I would suggest beginners purchase their own dress pre-made. Some potential dresses can be found here and here. 

Basically you are looking for a long blue flowy gown. Prom season is one of the best times to find this type of dress, although a simple Amazon or Ebay search should do it.

Step 2) Depending on the type of dress you have purchased, you will need a corset to layer on top. I purchased a plan blue one from a party store. You will also need square sequin pieces to cover it with. A hot glue gun is your best friend here. I only used blue but a mixture of blue, silver, and even white would be adorable. You can find them at your local craft store or purchase them here.

Simply glue the pieces onto your corset so that they cover the entire thing.

Well, maybe not *simply*

Step 3) Warning: The cape is the worst. By far the worst thing to make (besides the actual gown if you venture to sew your own). The cape, dun dun dun. 

I'm not even going to try and explain this step. So, in the interest of time, here's an amazing blog post tutorial on how to do it correctly found here.

You can use the same material for the sleeves and arm pieces, you can go without them (because cons can be hot and gross) or you can be like me and follow the advice of Promise Phan in one of her videos and use blue or glitter colored pantyhose! They are super easy to find and really look great. 

Step 4) The fun stuff! Now that the dress is done it's time for the accessories! You will need: 

A wig, found here. Some blue colored contacts found here. Some shoes. Because I don't like to wear anything but flats anywhere to cons, I just went with a simple blue pair of flats from my local Target. 

You can get all DIY with your shoes if you like though, but most dresses will cover them up anyway

Bonus) Back when I did my cosplay there was a Frozen craze sweeping the nation (although I think it may still be happening this holiday season). This meant I could not complete my cosplay in the way I wanted, which was to add a cute Olaf plushie!

Step 6) Put it all together with makeup girl!

Fun fact: The "beads" on my corset are actually paper because my order didn't arrive on time

Disney On Ice - Let's Celebrate Photo Dump! (Non-Beauty Post of the Day)

I'm doing something non-beauty related y'all! Last month I was MIA, mainly because I lacked inspiration to blog. So, in order to maintain my blog I've decided to open it up to whatever I want to talk about. Makeup, food, fashion, cats, and today, Disney on Ice. Because, well....

Anyway, recently I attended a Disney on Ice event! I wish I could say it was with my little sister, but no it wasn't (see above GIF). 

It was so magical though! 

It was the cutest thing ever. I took a ton of pictures and I thought I would share! It is super difficult to take pictures of moving skaters btw. Anyway, without further ado:

Ulta Black Friday #rant

So I've been recently shopping a TON online which was totally my plan for black Friday, because you know, crowds are scary. 

 This is how shopping in a store on black Friday is for me, with or without the parade floats. 

Anyway, I could not contain my excitement about ULTA's sales because: 1)MAKEUP!!!! and 2)MAKEUP ON SALE Y'ALL!!! So I did my research and I wrote down all the things I wanted to add to my cart ahead of time, because having the already available items in my cart would be a time-saver, obviously. But guys, this ad was amazing.

 Though really when you think about it, any beauty sale is amazing to a makeup addict.

But we're talking a Smashbox brush set, Mario Badescu sampler, Clarisonic brush heads, Philosophy body washes, all incredibly reasonably priced. It was the best ad I've ever seen (btw can we talk about Sephora and their Snapchat - just why). 

Anyway, black friday grey thursday rolls around and I'm ready! 5pm Pacific time is when the sale begins and even though I am a bit late to the game because hello, I am eating Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I am ready!  I log onto ULTA and I am in heaven because I literally was able to purchase every single item on my list. EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. Plus gifts for my friends and family. I was elated. 

Then the next day, the dreaded e-mail came. 

 You had one job ULTA, one job.

Needless to say I'm annoyed. Is this the universe trying to tell me to stop buying beauty products? Or maybe I should switch to a different store for all my beauty needs. Either way I don't care, ULTA I'll be back with my gift card real soon because this girl's gotta have her makeup.
